Welcome to the website of Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School, Fairy Meadow.
It is a privilege to work in partnership with our students, staff, families and parishioners as Principal of Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School, a dynamic and vibrant Catholic school community.
Good Samaritan Catholic Primary School is a Kindergarten to Year 6 co-educational school, serving the community of Fairy Meadow and surrounding regions. Our unique history began in 2012 with the successful amalgamation of St Francis Xavier Catholic Primary School, Wollongong, and St John Vianney's Catholic Primary School, Fairy Meadow.
Our Mission/Vision
Our motto "moved to compassion" emanates from the school's traditional links with the Sisters of the Good Samaritan. This motto has also inspired the school's vision, where we seek to nurture the diversity of learners and encourage each student to fulfil their academic and personal potential in a culture based on the values of the Gospel. This is achieved by ensuring a safe and engaging environment, that honours the story of the individual and focuses on the development of meaningful relationships.
We care for and appreciate each of our students as the unique individuals that they are, each with distinct talents, interests and needs. We strive for personal excellence, aiming to maximise the learning growth for every student while also building a sense of belonging and collective responsibility. We foster collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement in our learning community.
Values in Action
Good Samaritan is a school that prides itself on being Catholic and we highly value the close link that we have with the Lumen Christi parish community, our Bishop, and priests. We are a systemic school within the Diocese of Wollongong and are blessed to have the Co Cathedral on our school site.
As educators, we acknowledge that we share the responsibility of education with parents and the broader community. Learning is a partnership, and our school welcomes and encourages the involvement of parents and community members into the life of the school. Opportunities include involvement in faith and learning initiatives, volunteering opportunities, and participation in the Parents and Friends Association and special events.
